The Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light * What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming * Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro’ the perilous fight * O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming * And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air * Gave proof thro’ the night that our flag was still there * O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave * O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave
The melody is from traditional British song “The Anacreontic Song”and lyrics are from the poem “Defence of Fort McHenry” by American poet Francis Scott Key (first verse shown here).
O Canada

O Canada * Our home and native land * True patriot love in all thy sons command * With glowing hearts we see thee rise * The true North strong and free * From far and wide * O Canada, we stand on guard for thee * God keep our land glorious and free
Music by Calixa Lavallée; original, French lyrics by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. Original English lyrics by Justice Robert Stanley Weir.
